With a new Director, the Free Word Centre wanted to create a new focus for its events, and impact with new and younger audiences. It also wanted to consolidate its relationships with tenant organisations and partners. The aim formed the core of it’s NPO bid to Arts Council England in January 2017.
I worked at a strategic advisory level to help clarify Free Word’s purpose and desired audiences and fed into the NPO bid. At the same time, I helped recruit new teams to take charge of day-to-day marketing. I then developed a five-year Audience Development Strategy to allow these aims to develop organically, plus an Evaluation and Reflection Framework to help them keep on track.
Free Word were successful in their NPO bid for 2018-2022 and are successfully implementing the changing approaches to event planning. They have a fresh new website look and invigorating events with a much more diverse and younger audience. See the website for evolving news.
