Market research for Historic England training


Historic England wanted to carry out market research to determine the need for their training offer and the scope of content, delivery styles and price points that would find a market in the sector. They want to refine one strand of their offer – Heritage Practice – as a cost-recovery offer.


Through critiquing and mentoring, I am supporting the in-house team to refine their practices in market research in order to develop a robust approach that will ensure reliable insights on which to build their future offer. I will also help them interpret and learn from the market insights they obtain.


The sessions so far have helped the team better identify the potential audiences for their training, so that the research will be as broad as possible. We have also created and tested a survey to explore the different aspects important to people seeking training in heritage skills.
